About Pocorni International Foundation

On 20 January 1994 the Pocorni International Foundation was founded by descendants of the owners of the La Prospérité plantation. The objective of the Foundation is to further develop the green economy in the Surinamese region of Para, and in particular the La Prospérité plantation. Its intention is to preserve the existing nature for anyone who wants to enjoy it. Furthermore, the Foundation strives to make Bersaba and La Prospérité self-reliant in the future by means of eco innovations and by making use of the outcome of eco research conducted in cooperation with several colleges and universities.
