Tours

The day tour starts at 07:00 or 11:00 o’clock, depending on the weather at La Prospérité. Your guide will inform you of the exact starting time in a timely manner.

Day tour: start 07:00 o’clock
During the morning program a professional guide will take you on a hiking tour through the jungle to spot wildlife and enjoy the amazingly beautiful surroundings. Upon return on the plantation, you will have time to relax, while we prepare a delicious lunch. After lunch you will be joined by one of our guides for a tour of the plantation. He will tell you all about the interesting history of La Prospérité and Bersaba, e.g. the African religion and the first church in the district of Para. We conclude our program with either some relaxing time at the creek (our local spa) or, if you still have some energy left, you can also choose to do an activity on the plantation. After a final drink and snack, the bus will take you back to Paramaribo at around 15.30 hrs.

Day tour: start 11:00 o’clock
Upon arrival, we will take you on a guided tour of the plantation. You will learn all about the interesting history of La Prospérité and Bersaba. For example, about the fact that both the African religion and Christianity were exercised here. After the tour you can take some time to relax and enjoy a delicious meal. After lunch one of our professional guides will take you on a hiking tour through the jungle to spot wildlife and to enjoy the beautiful surroundings. After the jungle tour you will have time to relax at the creek (our local spa) while enjoying a drink and a bite to eat. Should you still be hungry for more, you can also choose to do an activity on the plantation. We will take you back to Paramaribo at round 19:00 o’clock.

Day tour including creek tour and overnight stay (coming soon!)
Upon arrival, we will take you on a guided tour of La Prospérité and Bersaba. You will learn all there is to know about the current and former life on the plantation. After this cultural tour, you will have time to relax at the creek, while we prepare a delicious meal. After dinner you will join our guide on a hike through the jungle to spot the specific flora and fauna of the nightly jungle. Upon return on the plantation, we will serve a drink and a little snack before we will take you to your hotel. We will pick you up fairly early the next morning, to take you on our famous creek tour. You will travel across the Coropina Creek by canoe, while our guide tells you all about the flora and fauna you will see. After the creek tour you will be welcomed back at the plantation with a cool drink and a bite to eat before we will bring you back to Paramaribo.

Lunch/dinner

All our lunches and dinners are prepared with special regional and seasonal products, such as the delicious cassava, pomtayer (a famous Suriname oven dish made of the root of the tayer plant), ginger beer, the extraordinary Malva tea und many more…. All these products contain healthy nutrients and are therefore good for your health: visit us to hear their story!
